It’s a story of the rise, fall, and reinvention of a prosperous town that was once home to the world’s largest candy factory. As the story goes, one lonely man is left to guard the abandoned factory as the community contemplates endings and new beginnings. Fortune Falls runs from October 18th through to November 5th.

Adventurous? How about at mealtime? While it’s technically outside of Calgary, we’re including A Taste for Adventure in our list of upcoming events you’re going to want to check out. It’s sure to be a memorable one. Chefs from around the world will be in Banff & Lake Louise between October 24th and November 6th serving up memorable plates to go with a memorable experience.
Broadway Across Canada presents "Mama Mia!"

It’s been called the Ultimate feel-good show and it’s coming to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. Broadway Across Canada presents "Mama Mia!" from November 1st to November 6th. If you’re a fan of ABBA – and aren’t we all – you won’t want to miss out on this fantastic performance.
ISU World Cup Speed Skating

Unless it’s Olympic season, you’re likely not watching speed skating. But here is your chance to watch it live in your own back yard! ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating is coming to the Olympic Oval from November 4th to November 6th. Calgary European Film Festival

Back for a 5th year, the Calgary European Film Festival (CEFF) brings together cinema from 16 different countries to the Globe Cinema. Running from November 7th to 13th CEFF is sure to entertain with feature films across all cinematic genres. All productions are screened in their respective languages with English subtitles. Cook With Your Kids

Looking for a fun day out with the kids? Look no further than Cook With Your Kids! This one-day event fills up fast – and for good reason. The pricing includes food, supplies and the joy of cooking. Each class is nearly 2 hours long. November’s class titled “Gnocchi from Scratch” is scheduled for Saturday, November 12th.
Just For Laughs Comedy Tour with Dane Cook

If you haven’t heard of Dane Cook, you’ve been missing out. Luckily, Just For Laughs Comedy Tour is bringing star comedian Dane Cook to Calgary’s Jack Singer Concert Hall this November 13th and 14th for two shows during their annual comedy tour. Tickets for this show are available online.
Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker

What’s sure to be an enchanting experience this holiday season, Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker is coming to Jack Singer Concert Hall for one night on Wednesday, November 16th. Complete with magical props, a 60 foot Christmas tree and spectacular Russian-made costumes it’s no wonder the New York Times calls the Great Russian Nutcracker a “Knock Out!”.
Santa Claus Parade of Lights

A Holiday Season hit, the Christmas Parade of Lights returns to Banff Avenue on Saturday, November 19th at 6:00 pm. Bring the entire family and get ready for the street to come alive with this classic Christmas activity. The Santa Claus Parade of Lights is, of course, free. If you’re looking to add to your day of fun bring the kids along to the Banff Train Station for photos with Santa from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Brix n Blox

Are you a construction toy enthusiast? You’re in luck. Another children’s favourite, Brix n Blox, is coming to Calgary’s Highland Park Community Hall on November 26th. Brix n Blox is pleased to be partnering with a team of true Lego artists, the Southern Alberta Lego User Group, to present the Brix n Blox LEGO Competition. Registration and pricing haven't yet been posted, so keep an eye out as November rolls around!
A Classic Christmas

Enjoy an evening of holiday fun at the Classic Christmas at Heritage Park.
